Welcome to the month of love!
In 2015 it was estimated that one in seven people in the US were unmarried -- that is about 31 million adult people who haven't gotten around to tying the knot. Many people have dubed Feburary 14th as "Single's Awareness Day" and I couldn't agree more. It is about time that we stopped making this month about the select few who are in relationships and start making it about everyone, everywhere.
In a relationship, couples find ways to surprise each other all year long. It is important to do those little things because it keeps the spark alive. But you know who we dont spoil everyday? Ourselves.
This year -- no matter if your single or married -- spoil yourself. There is not a single person on this planet that can create a perfect day for you better than yourself.
Dress yourself up to feel fabulous. Curl up with a good book and a cup of coffee. Take yourself out to lunch at your favorite local resturant. (My personal favorite is Marcela's because the drinks are amazing and the food is to die for.) Then pick something that is purely for your own indulgences. It does not matter if you are more interested in relaxation or adventure, we have got you covered.
For those looking for excitment, Manson Village is perfect for skiing and snowboarding this time of year. Just last week the MVL crew headed up to echo ridge, where everyone was snowmobiling. It was a blast.
To those looking to relax, the Chelan Valley is celebrating Red Wine & Chocolates this month. Its two weekends of sipping your way to happiness. There is no traffic, the roads are clear, and life here is a breath of fresh air when you're used to living in the city. Take yourself shopping through local stores that will inspire you.
And after all of that, finish off the perfect day by enjoying the sunset going back behind the mountains. You have a perfect view from any of the rooms at the Mountain View Lodge & Resort. Remember to always love yourself. You're worth it.
